All of the doctors in our practice have satisfied the training requirements of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and are vocationally registered. This means that they are committed to continuing medical education both updating skills and knowledge.

Our Facilities

    • We have the latest state of the art minor operating suite for skin cancer surgery, vasectomies and numerous other procedures which can be done locally on the Northern Beaches without travelling into Cairns.
    • Our surgery has facilities for children, with a small play area provided.

    • Medical Photographic technologies which we use to take photos during skin checks and surgery and store and catalogue them for quick and accurate retrieval in the future
    • We have a Modern Comfortable Waiting room with plenty of reading
    • There is a ambulance entry at the rear of the building.
    • Conveniently located next door to Clifton Beach Pharmacy.
    • Disabled Access – The surgery has easy access with close parking, wheelchair ramp and wide entry.

Appointments

Our practice operates on an appointment system allowing 15 minutes for a standard consultation. Longer consultation times are available should you wish to discuss more than one health issue. Please inform our receptionists at the time of booking if you require a longer appointment. Walk-ins are triaged appropriately and according to appointment availability.

From time to time our doctors may run late due to unexpected emergencies and extended consultations. You are welcome to call the practice ahead of time to check if your appointment will be on time. In the event that your doctor is noticeably behind schedule our receptionists will make contact with you to inform you of the delay.

Fees

The standard consultation fee is $84.00 with the Medicare rebate of $39.10.

Health Care Card holders, Aged and Invalid pensioners are charged a reduced rate of $74.00 with a rebate of $39.10.

A higher fee applies to longer appointment sessions or procedures.

Veterans Affairs gold card holders are bulk billed.

A full fee schedule is available at the front desk.

**It is not the policy of this practice to issue accounts. We ask that all accounts be paid at the time of
consultation.  The practice accepts Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, EFTPOS and
Debit cards.

PHONE CALLS – Our doctors do not take phone calls during consultations however our receptionists will take your details and the doctor will contact you at their earliest convenience, or arrange a telehealth or video-health appointment with you if appropriate.

RESULTS – Patients will always be contacted by the doctor or nurse with any significantly abnormal test results.

EMAILS – Clifton Beach Medical does not accept e-mails as a legal form of contact. Any e-mails received regarding medical symptoms or conditions will not be answered by a Doctor. Please phone the surgery for all appointments and any medical enquiries.

PRIVACY – This practice is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information.  Your medical record is a confidential document.  It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

PATIENT FEEDBACK & COMPLAINTS – From time to time this practice will conduct surveys in the form of a questionnaire to obtain consumer input into the running of the practice.  These surveys are completely confidential and help us improve our services.

HOME VISITS – Home visits are not normally done by our practice however they may be done at the discretion of the Doctor for the regular patients of the practice.
Visits to private patients in nursing homes are attended to during and after hours.

RECALL SYSTEM – Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a reminder notice or phone call from time to time, to remind you of follow up appointments and preventive health services appropriate to your care.

PRACTICE ETHICAL CODE – This practice is committed to providing comprehensive General Practice care to all individuals and families in this community. All patient consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential.

All equipment used for surgery is ultrasonically cleaned and autoclaved.
